Nissan Launches mid size Sedan Sunny in India

Japanese automobile giant Nissan launched its sedan car Sunny aggressively priced between Rs.5.75 lakh and Rs.7.68 lakh (ex-showroom). The car would be a competitor to mid size sedans like Verna, Ford Fiesta, Honda City, Tata manza and Fiat Linea. Adding to this localization is done to this car with 85 percent manufacturing done in Oragadam plant near Chennai.
"We are certain that Nissan Sunny will redefine the dynamics of the Sedan segment in India, We have been able to aggressively position it thanks to localization in excess of 85 percent " said Gilles Normand, corporate vice president, Africa, Middle East and India, Nissan Motor co.
Bookings for this car would be started from Sep 21 and handover from October. Sunny is powered with four cylinders, 1.5 litre double overhead camshaft petrol engine which can churn out a power of 99PS at 6000 rpm and with a mileage of 16.95 km per litre. Car is equipped with large rear knee room with large centre arm rear and cup holders not seen in the competitors.
Nissan Motor India also plans to export the sedan Sunny to countries in the Middle East and Africa.
