India to Overtake Japan as World's 3rd largest Economy:    (650 Views)

Year 2011 sounds to be a milestone for India when it?s overtaking Japan in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) to become world's 3rd largest economy. Currently India stands at 4th position behind US, China and Japan. Due to devastating tsunami and earthquake in Japan, the economy has shrinked a lot and India with its growth story in tact as emerged to be super three. Currently India's Economy is growing at 7% to 8% this fiscal. "India should overtake Japan in 2011 to become the third-largest economy in the world at purchasing power parity," said Sunil Sinha, head of research and senior economist at Crisil.
